History

Structure
[edit]Founded in 1974 Bacta is the leading membership-based trade association and strategic body representing the amusements and low-stake, low prize gambling entertainment industry in Great Britain.
A democratic body Bacta has an elected National President, Vice-President, National Council, Amusement Council and Gaming Council.
Bacta members are active in the regeneration of the high street through the operation of AGC’s (Adult Gaming Centres) and help sustain domestic tourism operating seaside arcades and FECs (Family Entertainment Centres).

Bacta’s streamlined structure comprises the Amusement Council (20 members), Gaming Council (20 members) each of which elect three members onto the National Council Board joining the National President, Vice-President and three former National Presidents.

Activities
[edit]It represents the pay-to-play leisure industry in Great Britain. Currently it represents the interests of over 600 companies and over 1,000 individuals. It is a member of the European umbrella group EUROMAT.
In June 2018, BACTA made a £14,000 donation to gambling charity Young Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM).[1]
